The event took place on Tuesday the 8th of November at the Grosvenor House in Dubai Marina. Katharina Albert was on the panel discussing the Impact of Disruptive Technologies, such as drone deliveries, automated-guided vehicles and 3D printing. The networking breaks were an excellent opportunity to catch-up with peers and make new contacts.

We were exhibiting at the Dubai Airport Show 2015 with our 12 sqm booth at Hall 6, stand 6001 near the entrance. We showcased videos of airport simulation projects and the benefits of digital manufacturing. We engaged with many visitors and asked about their line of business, we could give them specific examples of how simulation could be applied to improve their operations and increase profit margins. We were able to change their mindset from “No need…” to “Yes, we should do this!” Hence the exhibition was a great success to tell people about the various application areas and benefits that simulation technology will bring to their business.
Whether we are talking about airport expansion projects or aviation industry suppliers, they face common challenges: how to increase throughput capacity or upgrade facilities while day-to-day operations are going on? At this year’s Innovation Podium during the Airport Show in Dubai, Katharina Albert from Kat Logics will present on how to address these issues and make objective decisions based on statistics with the help of simulation technology.

At the Annual Working Time Change Forum at the Celtic Manor Resort in the UK many different businesses presented about their working time change journey, what challenges they faced, what were the lessons learned and benefits achieved. Hearing it from the person in charge of the project was so much more interesting. They were candid when they said they had to change more than just shift patterns, infact the entire company culture and work attitude has to change. From in-efficient 8 hours standard work time with plenty of costly over-time payments to a flexible shift system aligning workforce to the actual demand driven solely by the market and customer service level.
